Our mobile site is designed to work on modern smartphones. If you’re using a 4 year old Nokia phone with a 120×160 screen, our site does not and will not work for you. If you want to test on older/less-smart phones, PPK has a quick overview post that has some pointers. Even so, getting the current smartphone OS running is no piece of cake. So this post will outline how to get iPhone, Android, WebOS, and, ugh, BlackBerry running in emulation. Note: I left out Windows Mobile, as does 99% of the smartphone buying public.

Palm is For Sale

Palm, the smartphone pioneer, is on the block. The company, which in recent years has been eclipsed by the iPhone (and to some extent by Google’s Android OS), failed to make much of a comeback with its most recent Pre and Pixi phones.

Now Bloomberg reports the inevitable: Goldman Sachs and Qatalyst Partners have been tasked with finding a buyer for the ailing company, and bids may be sought as early as this week

Why Hasn’t Mobile Learning Gained Traction? – Inside Higher Ed

Google mobile learning and you get 103 million hits. At EDUCAUSE.edu, the same search results in 4,060 hits, including articles in EDUCAUSE Quarterly and EDUCAUSE Review. Browse through the EDUCAUSE 2009 conference site and you will discover mobile learning will be one of the dominant themes at this years conference.

There seems to be a disconnect between our excitement and the reality of mobile learning.
