Additionally, Booz Allen Hamilton won another contract for $20 million to “foster collaboration among telecommunications researchers, University of Maryland faculty members and other academic institutions to improve secure networking and telecommunications and boost information assurance,” Washington Technology reports. While that might sound like a lot of money to set up a mailing list and a wiki, please don’t be cynical.

Threadbox is a simple and pragmatic collaboration platform that helps workgroups effortlessly increase productivity by harnessing the group’s conversations, files, tasks, dates, and opinions.
Threadbox began in November 2008 when founders Michael Cerda and Ben Dean recognized an opportunity to make collaboration as easy as email and instant messaging, yet as comprehensive as a traditional collaboration service. The end result would improve productivity for small workgroup communication and collaboration.
Threadbox initially launched as Cc:Betty at DEMO Spring 2009, and from there grew, nurtured and iterated the platform with a beta customer base throughout 2009. A year later, in Spring 2010, the result of many months of customer and product development yielded Threadbox, the easiest collaboration service ever.

Codebase is developed in Ruby, using the Rails framework for the web application. In addition to this we have also developed our own libraries which power two of the most important parts of the system. Tripod is a library which provides SCM-agnositic access to repositories allowing us to easily interface with Git, Mercurial or Subversion repositories using a unified API. SCAM is our “source control access manager” and it interfaces directly with the Codebase database to control access to all repositories – regardless of the SCM, your request for access will pass through SCAM. We’ll post some blog entries with more details about our actual infrastructure in the next few weeks.

Creating a detailed project outline is fast and simple in FogBugz. You can create a high-level case for each feature you’re planning to implement, and then fill in the detailed work that needs to be done — the functions you’re going to write, the code you’re going to refactor, the algorithms you’ll need to implement, and so on.
FogBugz allows you to create subcases to represent lower-level tasks. In the case list, subcases appear under their parent cases in a hierarchical outline format. You can even modify the display of the outline by expanding and collapsing different subsections.
